Annotate offers a variety of tools that let educators use interactive whiteboards and displays while staying mobile in the classroom. Use screen mirroring and projection tools to display and control content from a personal device on a classroom whiteboard or interactive display. Free educational instructor accounts include up to two hours of screen sharing per day. Add the Web Annotations extension for Google Chrome to annotate web pages, highlight text, and capture online information. Create courses to share content with students, livestream lessons to student devices, conduct formative assessments, collect real-time student responses, and provide feedback on student work. Students can follow along with presentations, PDFs, Google Slides, and Annotate notebooks while adding their own notes and responses. Annotate also includes graphing and drawing question types useful for math and other content areas. Some advanced screencasting, collaboration, storage, and screen-mirroring features require a paid Pro account.

In the Classroom

Use Annotate.net as a resource for using your whiteboard while still maintaining the freedom to interact with students in classroom areas other than the front. Move around the room as you use Annotate to find examples of misinformation or difficulty with work, highlight student examples that share innovative thinking, or take advantage of teachable moments as they arise. Hand your device over to students to demonstrate their understanding of concepts or highlight questions they may have.
