Creator: Utah State University | visit site

Grade Range: K - 1

This collection of on-screen math manipulatives is part of an extensive collection developed at Utah State University with funding from the National Science Foundation. Students can build an understanding of math concepts by moving and arranging the components on the screen. These exercises show how even young students can begin to understand concepts of geometry.

In the Classroom

Share this site on your an whiteboard or with a projector during a unit about discovering patterns in Geometry. Set up a station or center for students to discover and play with patterns. If you’re integrating technology into your classroom and lucky enough to have iPads or tablets for your stations you could use a simple to use video response and reflection tool like Recap, reviewed here, to have them record their understanding. Post on your website or blog for students to use at home.
