Students can apply knowledge of area and perimeter to a real life situation with this simple but effective WebQuest. The objective is to figure out how to paint and furnish the upstairs rooms of a new house, while working within a $2,500 budget. Students must examine the floor plan, compute area and perimeter, "shop for" and select materials, justify expenditures, and stay under budget. Aligned to standards. rnrnNote: A few of the links to the paint and wallpaper stores don’t work, but they’re easily replaced, just make sure to take the time to do so before letting students loose.
